- Remember that you are a very special person because you are unique. There is no one in the world like you or who has the talents, skills, personality or appearance that you have. Enjoy your uniqueness and celebrate it.
- Treat yourself to an evening spa retreat. Set up your bathroom and bedroom with candles, and then take a luxurious bath with soothing music playing in the background. Buy your favorite healthy snacks to munch on while you are relaxing.
- Go out with friends to dinner and a movie. Chick flicks are the best. End the night reading a good book snuggled in bed.
- Buy yourself flowers and chocolates. You’ll have the opportunity to get good deals the day and week after Valentines day so stock up. While you’re at it, stock up on all the red stuff that will be on sale if you have red as a part of your décor.
- Make someone else’s day by sending them a card, flowers, or candy. There are so many people in nursing homes, hospitals, and all around you that could use a lift and feel loved. When you give to someone else you get just as much in return.
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be depressing and hateful. Love from external sources is not as important as the love you have for yourself. Determine to discover how wonderful and truly loveable you are everyday. When you do that, it will not matter if someone sent you flowers for just one day of the year.
