Uninsured Single Mom Ridiculed?

I came across an article this morning that included a transcript of Q & A session  with Rep. Lynn Jenkins. During the discussion a 27 year old single mom asked the representative how she, a full-time employee, can be helped as she doesn't have insurance and doesn't qualify for state sponsored insurance programs.  

The response was shameful and just goes to show how out of touch many politicians are when it comes to the struggles of the American people. You can read it here.

This single mom represents so many who are stuck in health care limbo. Like her, I work a full-time job, but don't have employer-provided insurance. It's too costly to pay for it myself and take care of my basic needs. Sadly, I don't qualify for state health insurance because I make too much money.

It's a laugh really and would be different if I actually saw every penny I earn. But the taxes eat up a big chunk. I'm not complaining because I am blessed to be working but it concerns me when the system that is supposed to help it's citizens (who pay the most into the system) can't reap the benefits.

I know there are many like me and this single mom who are caught in this situation. There are a few alternatives that I am looking into and which I wrote about a few months ago. In the meantime, I am keeping my eye on this situation and hoping the outcome will benefit those who need it the most.
